2018 will see the Brookes & Co team unleashed on more exhibitions than ever before and February will be our busiest month yet. With so much going on in the industry, we’ve put together this handy guide to the key events this month…
Spring Fair & Glee Exhibitions
Taking place from 4th to 8th February, Spring Fair is a firm favourite amongst our team. With over 2,500 exhibitors, not only does Spring Fair gives us the chance to catch up with our friends in the home enhancement market, it also provides us with a glimpse of the latest home trends and themes for the year. As account director, Sam Owen admits, “I’ve been putting off redecorating my bedroom until now because I know Spring Fair will help me to channel my inner Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and that has to be a good thing…right?!”
Alongside the glitz and glamour of the interiors world, 2018’s Spring Fair is sure to prove a hit as, for the first time, Glee – the UK’s largest garden trade show – will be welcoming visitors to its concessionary hall as part of the wider Spring Fair exhibition.
Commenting on this exciting new development, Brookes & Co’s MD, Kate Newton explains, “Over the past few years we’ve seen the lines between home and garden blur, so I think the move to include Glee at Spring Fair has come at the perfect time. It has clearly been a popular decision throughout the industry, with companies such as our client, Creative Products taking stands in both the main Spring Fair arena and in the Glee concession hall.” We could not agree more with Kate and look forward to supporting a successful show.
The Garden Press Event
Like Spring Fair, changes are afoot for the Garden Press Event; the dream exhibition for any PR pro specialising in the garden industry (i.e. us). For the first time, the Garden Press Event – where visitors are made up solely of members of the gardening press – will be held at the London Design Centre rather than previous haunt, the Barbican.
With Grange Fencing and Creative Products attending the show this year, the next few weeks will see us create bespoke invitations to encourage our wide database of press contacts to visit our clients, as well as develop informative press packs and secure interview appointments with key editors.

What’s New In Home Improvement? Exhibition
A new kid on the block! Similar to The Garden Press Event but for the home improvement industry, 2018 will the launch of the ‘What’s New In Home Improvement?’ press exhibition and, quite frankly, it could not have come at a better time!
With Brookes & Co overseeing the communications for the very first National Home Improvement Week this March, the Home Press Event provides the industry with the perfect opportunity to come together and show the press what all the fuss is about!
As well as drumming up interest about National Home Improvement Week amongst both exhibitors and visiting press, Brookes & Co will also be providing on stand support to our client, Liberon, which will be launching its newest range of innovative interior woodcare products.
Account manager, Tiff enthused “This might be the first year of the Home Improvement Press Event, but Brookes & Co will be jumping in head first. The team are thrilled at the prospect of seeing the home improvement press all under one roof and we know from our experience with the Garden Press Event that visitors will come to find this event a hugely useful date for the diary.”
If you’re thinking of attending the Home Improvement Press event but would rather stay away from DIY communications (sorry, couldn’t help it!), then let us know how we can support you.
Other dates for the diary
As if all of the above wasn’t enough for one month, Brookes & Co will also be attending the Ocado BHETA forum on 21st Feb and will be wining and dining at the annual Housewares Awards on the 5th Feb. It’s going to be a busy month but we can’t wait to get out there!
If you’d like to talk to us about PR, marketing and design support for any of the above exhibitions, please get in touch with Kate Newton by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01889598600.
