We’re a team of housewares fanatics here at Brookes & Co so when we were invited back to the Housewares Innovation Awards 2019, the well-established industry awards scheme designed for the housewares sector with categories designed to reflect the vibrant nature of the industry, we jumped at the chance to get involved. So, on Monday evening (after a busy day at Spring Fair), Sam and Michele headed to the NCC, Birmingham to celebrate the best of the best in the housewares industry.
After being greeted with a much-appreciated glass of fizz on arrival, and catching up with a few familiar faces, we settled in for an evening to recognise the housewares sector’s most innovative products, outstanding retailers and exceptional individuals.
With so many companies, products and people being recognised it was hard to pick out our highlights, but we were pleased to see Dawsons Department Store take home the award for Britain’s Best Housewares Retail Website. We had the pleasure of sharing a table with the team from Ocado so we were thrilled when they won the award for Britain’s Best Online Retailer. Plenty of brands were recognised for their innovation, with JWP’s Eco from Lock & Lock winning the Kitchenware Innovation Award, KitchenCraft’s MasterClass Smart Ceramic Large Roasting Pan with Lid winning the Bakeware Innovation Award and Meyer Group’s Kitchen Hacks Range taking home the Cookware Innovation Award. Not only that, it was great to round off the evening with Tony Grimshaw from Wham honoured with the well-deserved Kitchen Hero Award.
A huge thank you to the Housewares Innovation Awards team for a fabulous evening. We’re looking forward to seeing you again next year!
