Lights, camera, action! Photo shoot with Grange

Lights, camera, action! Photo shoot with Grange
This month, we swapped our office heels for our welly boots as we headed into the garden with the team at Grange Fencing. On a mission to create the perfect coffee-table brochure, the garden structures giant called upon our melting pot of marketing skills to oversee the production of its 2018 literature, from concept to print. Having won the Grange team over with our proposal for a chic, Scandi-styled outdoor room vibe, it was up to us, and our trusty in-house stylist, to plan and coordinate the photo shoot to ensure the company’s products were catwalk-ready!

Looking after our clients prop-erly

We’d do anything for our clients, particularly when it involves a trip to the shops! Tasked with a finding the perfect photo shoot accessories to give Grange’s products the edge, we scoured the high street for cushions, lighting, blankets, plant pots, and of course, wine (because, let’s face it, everything looks better with a glass of vino!). It looks like all our time spent on the front row at this year’s trend forecasting seminars finally paid off! Three weeks later, and with a prop-list as long as our shopping-bag-toned arms, we set off in our trusty orange van to the first of two Staffordshire-based garden sites for the start of our week-long photo shoot.

Ready for our close-ups!

Early morning starts, waterproof jackets, polythene coffee cups and extra-strong scrubbing brushes (for eliminating a few well-aimed bird poos!) became everyday life for our team on the front line. From jet-washing paving slabs to plumping cushions and stringing fairy lights, we worked from dawn to dusk to ensure every arch, arbour, gazebo and even fence panel was dressed to impress. Whilst we may have been yearning for the warmth and comfort of our little office by Day Five, it’s safe to say that the end results were worth every minute of hard work. We can’t wait to see the final shots from our brilliant photographer, Mike Swartz, over the next few weeks!

It helps to have friends

This month’s photo shoot involved a lot of forward planning and creative thinking and, quite frankly, we couldn’t have done it without a little help from our friends in the industry. Growing media expert Bathgate provided us with enough compost to fill every Grange planter on site and we were also lucky enough to receive support from our contacts at Whitefurze, Stewart, and Gardman who all donated their latest and greatest products – including watering cans, solar lights and even a wheelbarrow – to ensure the shoot was a resounding success. With that said, there is one last, heartfelt ‘Thanks’ we need to declare… Thank you to Lidl for providing us with the aforementioned £4 bottle of Pinot Grigio. It was devoured on Day One.
